Cat delivered a paper titled Discarding Well? How grassroots waste initiatives advance intersectional justice. Drawing on her wider research into waste, disposability, and environmental health, Cat highlighted how community-led waste practices reveal the uneven burdens of pollution and illuminate more equitable approaches to managing material discard. Her contribution opened conversations about how grassroots knowledge can inform policy, and how justice-oriented approaches to waste align with broader efforts to rethink material systems.
